<p>Mallow Camera Club had some excellent results today at the SACC Inter-Club Competition where we were delighted to take third with our Colour Panel and joint Second with our Projected Image Panel. Overall, Mallow took fourth place in the competition. There was some fantastic photography on display in the competition. We were honoured to keep [&hellip;]</p>

<p>In 1973 MCC member Pat Heavin was living and working in Waterford when film director Stanley Kubrick and a host of well-known actors descended on the area to make the film Barry Lyndon. Among the actors was heartthrob Ryan O’Neal who had come to prominence in the film Love Story released a few years before. [&hellip;]</p>

Bob Underhill, Mike Sharples and David Millard are all members of Smethwick Photographic Society in the West Midlands; perhaps the UK&#8217;s largest and most successful club. <p>Mallow CC had another great weekend when members of the club picked up awards at the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) Print and Projected Image and IPF Nature Competitions held in Kilkenny on 21 and 22 February last. <p>Mallow Camera Club is delighted to host a talk by award winning photographer Eimhear Collins on Monday night next, 09 February 2015. Eimhear lives in Drogheda, County Louth and photography has been her passion for the last four years. <p>Nice mention for Mallow Camera Club in this week&#8217;s &#8216;Corkman&#8217; newspaper which reported that sales of our club chairman&#8217;s image, which is featured on this year&#8217;s Christmas Stamp, have reached 3.7 million copies.</p>

<p>Two members of Mallow Camera Club picked up awards in the 2nd Cork International Salon, the results of which were announced today. First time salon entrant, Paul Tips, won a PSA Honourable Mention in the nature category for his image &#8216;Mating Yellow Dung Flies&#8217;. John Hooton picked up PSA Honourable Mentions in two categories. One [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Good news recently for club chairman, Bill Power, who won three awards in the French Digital Circuit. His image &#8216;The Original Gannets in Love&#8217; won a PSA Gold Medal, a UPI Gold Medal and a Prix du Conseil Régional. Bill was naturally delighted with the award which he says is his first in a French [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The camera club&#8217;s exhibition, which opened in Mallow Primary Healthcare, on 8th December is proving to be a great success. There are over 150 images on display, all showing some of the latest work by club members. At the opening of the exhibition, the club chairman said that it was an evening to celebrate great [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This year&#8217;s Club Christmas Dinner and social evening will take place on Monday 16th December in Springfort Hall Mallow at 7:30pm. There is a 3 course set menu on offer at 26 euro per person and we have a private dining room for our meal. After the dinner there will be a fun table quiz [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The 2013 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Mallow Camera Club will take place in the Mercy Centre Mallow on Monday 25 November 2013 at 8:30 p.m. Nominations for election to the committee must be with the Club Secretary, John Doheny, six days before the AGM, i.e. on or before Tuesday 19 November 2013.  Nomination papers [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Mallow Camera Club is delighted to host a visit by our near neighbours, Blarney Photography Club, on Monday night next, 18 November. Members of Blarney PC are doing some great creative work which can be seen on their website http://blarneyphotoclub.com/.  It promises to be a great night of photography. <p>Renowned wife and husband team Catherine and Scott MacBride will be giving a talk to Mallow Camera Club on Monday night next, 11 November. Catherine and Scott are a very creative couple who inspire all those who have heard them speak and seen their work.  They are members of Celbridge Camera Club and have won [&hellip;]</p>

<p>John Hooton&#8217;s photography will feature on RTE1&#8217;s &#8216;Nationwide&#8217; this coming Friday, 1st November at 7pm. The TV crew crew filmed session with John in both Mallow and Dingle, where most of the photographs for his recent book, &#8216;Gathering Light on the Dingle Coast,&#8217; were taken. <p>Monday next, 21st October, is the first competition night of the season. The theme is &#8216;Countryside&#8217;. Members are welcome to enter up to ten images each (projected, colour, monochrome, prints), which will be independently judged and critiqued. Bring whatever you have &#8211; landscapes, farm scenes, farm animals, trees, toadstools, rivers, leaves, nature &#8211; anything that [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The next meeting of the club will focus on developing skills in the area of rural and landscape photography.  This will dovetail nicely with our next club outing to Galtee Wood to shoot rural and autumn photos. John Hooton will give a talk on how to approach this aspect of photography, including what lens to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Neily Curtin has achieved his Associateship of the Irish Photographic Federation (AIPF) at the September distinctions sitting in Waterford on Saturday 14 September. Neily’s superb panel titled &#8216;Mesmerised by the Flow&#8217; consisted of fifteen prints each depicting flowing water.  All the images were taken on his farm at Rockchapel, in North West Cork and certainly [&hellip;]</p>
