<p>Mallow Camera Club Image of the Year Competition 2018 Results &amp; Awards The announcement of winners and presentation of prizes for Mallow Camera Club’s Image of the Year Competition took place at a very enjoyable Christmas Dinner &amp; Awards evening in Springfort Hall on Monday 17th December 2018. <p>We are delighted with our results from the Irish Photographic Federation National Shield Competition, which was held in Palmerstown on Sunday 18th November 2018 and which attracted entries from 27 clubs. Mallow Camera Club was awarded Joint 3rd Place in the Mono Panel Competition, achieved 5th place in the Colour Panel Competition and joint 4th [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Mallow Camera Club hosted the official launch of John Hooton’s new book, ‘Ireland &#8211; The Way We Were’, at a full-house event at the Mercy Centre, Mallow on Monday evening 22nd October 2018. The event also featured an exhibition of selected prints from the book. MC for the evening, our Chairman, Jim Mc Sweeney, welcomed [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Mallow Camera Club will be holding 8 weeks of camera skills classes for anyone who wishes to learn more about their cameras, and how to improve their photography. These classes are open to non-members and members alike. There will be opportunities to join the rest of the club on outings during the 8 weeks of [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Congratulations to Christopher Bourke and Jim McSweeney for LIPF Distinction. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The Southern Association of Camera Clubs photographer of the year competition took place in the Horse and Jockey Hotel on 20th November. A number of club members did very well at the competition Tony Coakley was awarded a gold medal in the non advanced colour print section with his image if a stag. Christopher Bourke [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Our 30th year of Mallow Camera Club has come to an end with the AGM last evening. There was a very large attendance at the meeting and the following officers and committee were elected for the 2016-17 season. <p>The 30th Anniversary Dinner will take place next Thursday 29th September at 7:30pm in Springfort Hall Newtowpothouse Mallow. This is our last event of the 30th year  celebrations and what a busy year we have had! There will be entertainment provided by Noel Walsh and Teddy Sugrue. <p>Mallow Camera Club new season is starting next Monday September 5th, 8.00pm in the Mercy Centre Mallow. We will go through the club programme for the next two months. Members please bring 4 &#8211; 5 images that you took during the summer which we display. Also note that the the Camera Skills Classes will start [&hellip;]</p>

<p>&nbsp; This competition is for secondary school students there are 2 competitions one for Junior cycle and one for senior cycle. Prizes for the competition in each category are: 1st place €50, 2nd €30 and 3rd place €20 You are allowed to enter 2 images. The Theme of the competition is &#8220;The Way We Live&#8221; [&hellip;]</p>

<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Mallow Camera Club were placed 3rd in the inaugural Rebel Cup competition last weekend.  Congratulations to Cork Camera Group who the overall title, and Blarney Camera Club who came second. The judges gave the best overall image on our panel to &#8220;Scrum&#8221; by Janusz Trzesicki, well done Janusz. The photographers with images on [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Mallow Camera Club members had great success at the recent Irish Photographic Federation Photographer of the Year competitions Viv Buckley won a sliver medal in the advanced mono print section Breda O&#8217;Mullane won a bronze medal in the Intermediate projected image competition. Bill Power competing for Cork Camera group was declared overall Photographer of the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Our first 30th year event will take place on Monday 22nd Feb at 8pm in the Mercy Centre Mallow it is one of our &#8220;Down Memory Lane&#8221; nights. On 22nd Feb we are holding a slides night from the pre-digital era this will be presented by 5 of our original founder members who each will [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We have a new logo and a new Facebook page to celebrate our 30th year as a club and will be adding events and projects along the way so check the FB page out and give it a like! Mallow Camera Club 30 Years Growing</p>

<p>Great success for club members today at the SACC nature photographer of the year competition in the Celtic Ross Hotel Rosscarbery. Jim McSweeney won gold and sliver medals in the non advanced colour Print open. In the non advanced print themed section he won the competition and was awarded the silver medal, and in the [&hellip;]</p>
