<p>Club chairman, Bill Power FIPF, is having a run of success recently in international salons, where he has won no less than five awards in salons in India, Montenegro and Serbia. His success continue Mallow Camera Club&#8217;s long-standing tradition of success in regional, national and international competition. Two awards were won by Bill&#8217;s image &#8216;U Rock My Socks&#8217;. [&hellip;]</p>

<p>&nbsp; Mallow Camera Club is hosting a full-day Photoshop Skills Workshop with UK Photographer, Irene Froy EFIAP, MPAGB, HonPAGB, who is a leading proponent of creativity through photography and photoshop. <p>Mallow Camera Club had some excellent results today at the SACC Inter-Club Competition where we were delighted to take third with our Colour Panel and joint Second with our Projected Image Panel. Overall, Mallow took fourth place in the competition. There was some fantastic photography on display in the competition. We were honoured to keep [&hellip;]</p>

<p>In 1973 MCC member Pat Heavin was living and working in Waterford when film director Stanley Kubrick and a host of well-known actors descended on the area to make the film Barry Lyndon. Among the actors was heartthrob Ryan O’Neal who had come to prominence in the film Love Story released a few years before. [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Mallow Camera Club is delighted to welcome three esteemed UK photographers to share their knowledge with club members on Monday night next, 09 March 2015. Bob Underhill, Mike Sharples and David Millard are all members of Smethwick Photographic Society in the West Midlands; perhaps the UK&#8217;s largest and most successful club. <p>Mallow CC had another great weekend when members of the club picked up awards at the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) Print and Projected Image and IPF Nature Competitions held in Kilkenny on 21 and 22 February last. <p>A very happy New Year to all MCC members. Club meetings will resume on Monday night, 12th January, in the Mercy Centre Mallow at 8 p.m. The 2015 club programme will be unveiled at the meeting. <p>The next meeting of the club will focus on developing skills in the area of rural and landscape photography.  This will dovetail nicely with our next club outing to Galtee Wood to shoot rural and autumn photos. John Hooton will give a talk on how to approach this aspect of photography, including what lens to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>There was a great start to the new Mallow Camera Club photographic season on Monday night in the Mercy Centre.  Club Chairman, Bill Power, welcomed everyone back after the summer and said he was delighted to see a full house with both familiar and new faces. <p>The 2013 Photographer of the Year Competition was held in Mallow Camera Club on Monday night 27 May.  There was intense, but friendly, competition between members of different grades, and the results reflected the commitment and hard work of club members. When the votes were counted Bill Power emerged as the 2013 Photographer of the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Mallow Camera Club will hold its next meeting in the Mercy Centre, Mallow on Monday next 11th March.  The Mercy Centre is beside St. Mary&#8217;s Secondary School on the north side of the town. Beginners tuition will commence at 8 p.m. followed by the weekly meeting at 8.30 p.m. Fermoy Camera Club will be our [&hellip;]</p>

<p>All members are invited to a Club Photo Shoot on Sunday morning next, 3rd March. We&#8217;ll meet outside Saint Mary&#8217;s (Church of Ireland) Church in Doneraile at 10 a.m. The trip is primarily aimed at members who want to improve their skills and get to know their camera gear a little better. Hopefully a number [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This years Christmas party will be held in the Hibernian Hotel, Main Street, Mallow on Thursday the 16th of December at 8pm. The dress code is casual, but tailcoats are optional. This year the cost per person is €19.95. This is for a 3 course meal. You may have a 2 courses and a glass of wine for [&hellip;]</p>

<p>There will be no meeting next Monday the 11th of October. However the following Friday the 15th of October Gabriel O&#8217;Shaughnessy, Bob Underhill and Colin Thompson will be giving a presentation of their work. This is an exceptional group of photographers and club members should not miss this opportunity if at all possible. The venue [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The venue for Ciaran White and Lorraine Gilligan&#8217;s presentation has been confirmed for St. Patrick&#8217;s National School, next to Market Square , Mallow.  The presentation will take place  on Friday the 24th  of September. The photography includes portaits, nude and studio work.  All are welcome.</p>

<p>At the recent East Antrim Open Photographic Competition, John Hooton of Mallow Camera Club won the Gold Medal for the best image in the competition. This award, from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) is much sought after in the photographic world.  John’s Gold Medal winning image was in black and white, which is [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The club got off to a great start at this weekends IPF National Club Finals when club members John Hogan, Bríd Coakley and Morgan O&#8217;Neill all achieved photographic distinctions in the Saturday sitting. John Hogan gained his Licentiateship of the Irish Photographic Federation (LIPF) with a panel of ten colour images, representing a variety of [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Some of these web sites may stretch the definition of &#8220;education&#8221; slightly but even looking at photos is an education if they inspire you. <p>Due to family reasons our special guest Gerrit Groshart, who was due to visit the club on Monday night 10th March, has had to cancel his visit.  Gerrit will not be judging the IPF Natioal Nature Finls on Sunday 9th March either.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused. An alternative item will be included in the club programme. </p>
