<p>Mallow CC had another great weekend when members of the club picked up awards at the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) Print and Projected Image and IPF Nature Competitions held in Kilkenny on 21 and 22 February last. <p>Mallow Camera Club chairman Bill Power won his first Gold Medal at an international salon recently. Bill’s photograph &#8216;Amethyst Deceiver&#8217; won the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Gold Medal in the &#8216;World Around Us&#8217; Salon in Serbia.  In addition to his medal win Bill also had five more of his images accepted in the salon. <p>At the 2013 Salon Photographique International Le Catalan, held in Perpignan, France, two Mallow Camera Club members John Hooton and Bill Power had eleven acceptances between them. John had five images accepted, while Bill had six (see panel below). In addition John Hooton won the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Gold Medal for his image ‘Shipwreck’ [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The 2013 Photographer of the Year Competition was held in Mallow Camera Club on Monday night 27 May. There was intense, but friendly, competition between members of different grades, and the results reflected the commitment and hard work of club members. When the votes were counted Bill Power emerged as the 2013 Photographer of the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Mallow Camera Club is looking for images for selection on to our panels for the upcoming SACC Interclub Competition, which will take place on 24th March. The club will be entering three panels again this year, Colour Print, Monochrome Print and Digital Projected Image; each panel consisting of ten images. Each photographer can have up to two images [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The competition will be held tomorrow in Kilcoran Lodge hotel, Cahir, Co. Tipperary. Allow extra time to travel to the event. Last enties taken at 11.30am. Competition begins at 1.30pm. Because of the weather we may have fewer participants, so now might be your chance to do well.</p>

<p>Due to bad weather we will be extending the time to accept  images up until 12.15am on Sunday next for the SACC Print and Projected images competition, which is being held in the The Park Hotel, Clonmel.The SACC AGM will follow shortly afterwards. Judging will begin at 2pm</p>

<p>At the recent East Antrim Open Photographic Competition, John Hooton of Mallow Camera Club won the Gold Medal for the best image in the competition. This award, from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) is much sought after in the photographic world. John’s Gold Medal winning image was in black and white, which is [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The club got off to a great start at this weekends IPF National Club Finals when club members John Hogan, Bríd Coakley and Morgan O&#8217;Neill all achieved photographic distinctions in the Saturday sitting. <p>It has been another great weekend for the club. Following on from the recent successes in the SACC Nature Competitons, the club and club members have scored more wins over the last few days. On Saturday club members travelled to Dublin to participate in the IPF National Print and Projected Image competition.  Veteran club member John Hooton won a Gold Medal [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Last December 3rd, ten members of the club travelled up to Cahir to attend the SACC AGM and Print &amp; Slide Competition. The club did very well in the competitions with a number of winners: Colour Print John Hooton Morgan O&#8217;Neill Seán Murphy In the Black and White Print section Sean Murphy came second and [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Last week&#8217;s Patterns Around Us competition was a great success with a good attendance despite the abstract theme. There were a number of categories with winners picked from each category. Members were limited in the number of images they could submit, but as you can see by the results below, some of the same names [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The next club competition, &#8220;Patterns Around Us&#8221; will be on Monday, November 27th. The theme of the competition is patterns. There are four sections: Black and white/monochrome print Colour print Slide Digital Images Digital images need to be handed to John Doheny before Thursday the 23rd of November. <p>Tomorrow is the big day when photography clubs around Ireland descend on Portlaoise for the Irish Photographic Federation&#8217;s National Shield Competition.
