Photographer of the Year 2025

Photographer of the Year 2025

Mallow Camera Club hosted its annual Photographer of the Year Competition awards during the Dinner & Awards Evening at Springfort Hall on Tuesday, 25th November 2025.

As one of the most anticipated events on the club calendar, the competition drew an impressive number of entries. Each participant submitted three printed monochrome images and three printed colour images, all judged individually rather than as a collective panel.

Four judging grades were included, ranging from Grade 1 for beginners and newer members to Grade 4 for the most advanced photographers. Prizes were presented across every grade and category.

Thank you to the distinguished panel of judges:

Ita Hegarty AIPF

Suzanne Behan FIPF ARPS

Charlie O’Donovan FIPF EFIAP

Their careful scoring, thoughtful critique, and professional insight were greatly appreciated. Our sincere thanks to Ita, Suzanne, and Charlie for their time and expertise.

A special acknowledgment goes to Competition Secretary Niamh Barrett and Assistant Competition Secretary Helen Vaughan for their hard work in organising and coordinating the event, along with Anne Buckley for managing arrangements with Springfort Hall.

We also thank all Club Members who printed, mounted, and displayed the competition images, ensuring an engaging exhibition throughout the evening. Special appreciation to Noely Ward and Gaz France for providing outstanding entertainment.

The evening’s charitable raffle raised €510 in support of Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, an Irish charity offering vital practical, social, and financial assistance to families of children living with cancer.

Thank you to all who supported the raffle, including organisers Anne Buckley, Patricia O’Shea, and Maura Crowley, as well as prize contributors and ticket buyers.

Congratulations to all the award recipients and thank you to every participant. The standard of work this year was exceptional, with many remarkable images on display.
