Image of the Year 2022
Judging of entries and announcement of the winners for Mallow Camera Club’s Image of the Year 2022 Competition took place this week via Zoom.
One of Mallow Camera Club’s premier competitions, it consists of a Colour section and a Mono section, with each entrant submitting one colour and one mono digital image.
The John Doheny Perpetual Trophy is awarded to the Image of the Year, which is the best overall image, as adjudicated by the judges, between the Colour Image of the Year and the Mono Image of the Year.
We were privileged to have two top-class judges for our competition, the well-known Michelle La Grue FIPF LIPPVA and Gerry Andrews FIPF ARPS EFIAP.
The competition attracted a very high standard, as usual, with some very close scoring. Michelle and Gerry put in an excellent effort, especially in providing feedback on every image with positive observations and constructive suggestions for improvement where appropriate, and we hugely appreciate their contribution.
The Image of the Year, winner of the John Doheny Perpetual Trophy, was awarded to one of our newest members, Bella Daly, for her fabulous mono image, “Mother Was Born.” This image was also awarded Mono Image of the Year and first place in Grade 4 Mono.
The Colour Image of the Year, which also earned first place in Grade 4 Colour was awarded to Viv Buckley FIPF AFIAP, for her fabulous image “Still We Rise.”
